Instagram keeps every reel you save in one folder, Saved. It's private: nobody else can see what you save, including the person who posted it.
Find your saved reels on your phone
- Open Instagram and tap your profile picture at the bottom right.
- Tap the menu (☰) at the top right.
- Tap Saved. It opens on All posts: everything you've saved, newest first.
Your collections, if you've made any, sit in a row above All posts. On some older Android versions, Saved is under Settings instead.
Show only reels
All posts mixes reels with photos and carousels. Tap the video icon at the top of the Saved screen to see reels only. With a few hundred saves, that alone cuts the scrolling a lot.
On a computer
Go to instagram.com, open your profile and click the Saved tab under your bio. Only you can see it. It's the same folder, with the same collections.
Watched it but didn't save it?
Since October 2025 Instagram keeps a history of the reels you watch. Open your profile, tap the menu (☰), then Your activity → Watch history. You can sort it oldest or newest first, and filter it by date or by the account that posted the reel.
If you tapped the heart instead of saving, look under Your activity → Likes.
Why a saved reel disappears
A save is a bookmark to the original post, not a copy. It vanishes, with no warning, when:
- The creator deleted it, or their account, or Instagram took it down. It can't be recovered.
- The account went private or blocked you. You'll often see a blank grey tile where it was.
- You unsaved it by accident. The bookmark is a toggle and there's no undo. If the reel still exists, find it on the creator's profile and save it again.
If a tile is blank and none of these apply, log out and back in, or update the app. Sometimes it's just a sync glitch.
Keep the part you saved it for
Most reels are saved for one thing: the café's name, the recipe, the film. Put the reel in a named collection as you save it (press and hold the bookmark icon and pick one), and copy that one thing into your notes, so it's still there if the reel goes.
