Instagram's Saved folder has no search, so a few apps have stepped in to sort your reels for you. They all aim at the same problem but work quite differently: some are apps you share reels into, one connects to your accounts, and one, Gugu (which we make), lives in your Instagram messages.
Here's how they compare. Details for the other apps are as each one describes itself on its own site, checked on 20 October 2026.
| App | How you add a reel | Works on | Price | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Instagram collections | Press and hold the bookmark icon | Wherever Instagram runs | Free | Built in, but no search |
| Gugu | Send the reel to Gugu in your Instagram messages | Any phone with Instagram; your stash on the web | Free for 30 reels a month; Pro $5/month (₹149/month in India) | Reads the caption and listens to the audio; you can ask it what to watch or cook |
| Stasht | Share sheet, or a browser extension | iPhone, Android, desktop | Free | Imports existing saves through its browser extension |
| Sorti | Share sheet, or screenshots | iPhone, Android | Free | Also sorts screenshots, links and TikToks |
| Siloe | Connect your accounts | iPhone, Android, Mac | Free; Pro $49.99 a year | Imports what's already in your saved tabs, across several apps |
Which one should you use?
- You just want a little order: Instagram collections. Free and built in; file each reel as you save it.
- You have hundreds of saves already: an app that imports them, such as Siloe or Stasht, gets your back catalogue in at once. With the others you add reels one by one.
- You save from TikTok, X and screenshots too: Sorti, Siloe or Stasht, which take more than Instagram.
- You live in Instagram and don't want another app: Gugu. You share a reel the way you'd send it to a friend, it works the same on iPhone and Android, and you can ask it things like "a quick dinner" or "something scary to watch" from what you've saved.
What to check before you pick
- Does it listen? Many reels say the café or the recipe out loud and never write it down. An app that only reads captions will miss it.
- Does it keep a copy? A save is only a bookmark. If the creator deletes the reel, it's gone, unless the app kept what was in it.
- Can you leave? Check that you can delete your data, and how.
